‘The owls are not what they Seem …’ These legendary words spoken by Dale Cooper in the television series Twin Peaks indicate that a researcher is never able to finish his or her quest. There is always more to explore, and there may be other, different insights. This statement characterises senior researcher Chris Oomes best. ‘The very hungry caterpillar’ always keeps his eyes open. Chris was a researcher for various television programmes and several different glossy magazines such as Esquire and AvantGarde. He has since shifted his focus to the academic area of thought leadership and communication, and is also a research lecturer at Fontys School of Communication.
